Morphology

vestibular = vestibule (opaque) = vestibule + ar

Formally derived from 'vestibule' + '-ar', but the meaning is a specialized anatomical sense (inner-ear balance) that is not predictable for average learners from general 'vestibule' usage.

Etymology

Vestibular comes from the Latin vestibulum, meaning 'entrance' or 'hall', and is the same root as the English word vestibule. Inside the ear there is a small 'entrance' area called the vestibule that helps with balance, so vestibular means 'relating to the sense of balance'.
