Etymology
Chamomile comes from Greek parts chamai- meaning 'on the ground' and -melon meaning 'apple'. So it once meant 'earth-apple' because the plant grows low and smells a little like apple, and that is why chamomile today names a low, sweet-smelling herb often used for tea.
