Etymology

The word spectroradiometer is made of three parts you may know: spectro- like spectrum meaning 'range of colours or wavelengths', radio- meaning 'radiation' or 'radio waves', and -meter meaning 'a device that measures'. So, a spectroradiometer is an instrument that 'measures' light or other radiation across different parts of the spectrum.
