Morphology
miscible = mix (semi-transparent) = misc + ible
The meaning 'able to be mixed' is regular, but the Latin-derived form 'misc-' (rather than the familiar 'mix') may not be immediately recognized by B1 learners.
Etymology
Miscible comes from the Latin word miscere, 'to mix', and is the same root as English mixture and miscellaneous. So if liquids are miscible, they can 'mix' together and stay as one liquid without separating.
