Morphology

micrograph = graph (semi-transparent) = micro + graph

The word is recognizably built from 'micro-' and 'graph', but the specific sense of a microscope image is specialized rather than fully predictable.

Etymology

Micrograph comes from the parts micro- meaning 'small' and -graph meaning 'to write or draw', the same -graph in photograph. So a micrograph is like a 'small picture' and today it means a picture made with a microscope to show very small things.
