Etymology
Chemotherapy breaks into chemo- ('chemical') and -therapy ('treatment' or 'healing'), and you can see the same idea in the word chemical and in therapy. So chemotherapy simply means a 'treatment with chemicals' that doctors use to fight diseases like cancer.
