Etymology
The word ricksha comes from Japanese jinrikisha ('person' + 'power' + 'vehicle') and was first used for a human-pulled cart; today the same name is used for small three-wheeled motor taxis called auto rickshaw or tuk-tuk. So the word still tells us it is a small city vehicle for short trips, even when it has a motor.
