The adjective is derived from 'lethargy' with a standard adjectival suffix, but the spelling change and relatively learned suffix make it slightly less immediately guessable for many learners.
Etymology
Lethargic comes from two Greek parts: lethe meaning 'forgetfulness' and argos meaning 'idle'. So, to be lethargic is to be so slow or tired that you almost 'forget' to move.
