Etymology
Chemtrail is made from chem- (short for 'chemical') and trail ('line left by a plane'), but the ordinary white line is usually a contrail, meaning a trail of 'water vapor' and ice from a jet, so in this sense chemtrail just refers to the normal plane trail.
