Formed by adding the productive nominalizing suffix '-ation' to the verb 'Europeanize', yielding the process noun in a regular way.
Etymology
The word Europeanization comes from Europe plus the verb ending -ize ('to make') and the noun ending -ation ('the process'), as in Americanization, so it means the process of becoming more like Europe or adopting European ways.
