Etymology
The word wood-fired is made of two simple parts, wood and -fired, where -fired comes from fire and means 'heated by fire'. So a wood-fired oven or stove is one warmed or run by 'burning wood', which is why food from a wood-fired oven often has a smoky, stronger flavor.
