Morphology

voiced + sound

The phrase is a straightforward composition of 'voiced' (produced with vibration of the vocal cords) + 'sound' (an auditory vibration), so its meaning is directly derivable from the constituent words. Although somewhat technical, this literal modifier–noun combination is cross-linguistically common, so a B1 learner who knows both constituents would understand it.

Etymology

Voiced sound comes from the small buzz you feel when you say it, because the thin bands in your throat called vocal cords shake and make a voice. So a voiced sound means a sound that is 'made with vibration' of those cords.
