Etymology
Shiatsu comes from two Japanese parts, shi meaning 'finger' and atsu meaning 'pressure', so it literally means 'finger pressure'. That's why shiatsu is a Japanese type of massage where the therapist uses their fingers to press points on the body to relieve pain and help you relax.
