The word is transparently built from the medical combining forms 'rhino-' (nose) + '-plasty' (surgical repair), but these combining forms are specialised and may be unfamiliar to an average B1 learner.
Etymology
Rhinoplasty comes from Greek parts: rhino- meaning 'nose', like in rhinoceros, and -plasty meaning 'to shape', like the word plastic which can be shaped. So rhinoplasty means 'shaping the nose', which is why it is the operation to change the nose's shape.
