Etymology
Ninjitsu comes from two Japanese parts: nin, meaning 'to hide' or 'to endure', and jitsu, meaning 'art' or 'skill', and it is the same root as ninja. So ninjitsu is the 'art of hiding and moving quietly', which is why it means the old Japanese practice of spying, disguise, and secret fighting.
