Contains the combining prefix 'miso-' (hatred) which is somewhat recognizable, but 'gyn' is not a standalone English word, so the meaning is only partly deducible without knowledge of Greek or related words like 'misogynist'.
Etymology
Misogyny comes from the Greek parts misos 'hatred' and gyne 'woman', and the gyne part is the same as in gynecology, the study of women's health. So misogyny means 'hatred of women' or a strong dislike of them.
