Morphology

itemization = itemize (transparent) = item + ize + ation

The derivation from the verb 'itemize' to the noun 'itemization' by adding '-ation' is regular and meaning-preserving.

Etymology

Itemization comes from the common word item and the ending -ization. The word item was once used in old lists to mark each separate entry and even meant 'also', so itemization simply means making a clear, detailed list of each thing.
