extraverted = extravert (semi-transparent) = extra + vert + ed
The adjective is transparently based on 'extravert', but the added -ed form and the specialized psychological sense make it only partly predictable.
Etymology
Extraverted comes from the parts extra- ('outside') and -vert- ('to turn'), the same root you see in convert. So an extraverted person is like someone 'turned toward the outside', focused on other people and the world.
