Surface Forms

Morphology

compossibility = compossible (semi-transparent) = com + possible + ity

The adjective 'compossible' is a regular formation (com- + possible) whose components are recognizable, but the term is rare and chiefly philosophical, so its formation may not be fully transparent to average learners.

Etymology

Compossibility comes from the parts com- ('together'), as in combine, and possible ('able to be'). So, it means things that are 'able to be together' — they can exist or happen at the same time without conflict.
