Etymology

Ski-Doo comes from a brand name for a small vehicle made to travel on snow; the first part ski is the same word you know, and the second part doo is a playful ending. One popular story says the name began as Ski-Dog but a printer's mistake gave us Ski-Doo, and because people used the brand name for all such machines it now often means any 'snowmobile'.
