Morphology
This is fully compositional: 'Seine' is a proper name and, combined with the noun 'river', yields the straightforward meaning 'the river called the Seine.' The pattern NAME + river is a common cross-linguistic naming convention, so a B1 learner who knows both constituents will readily understand the referent.
Etymology
Seine River may come from an old river goddess called 'Sequana' that people long ago honored near the water. One popular story says they left gifts at her springs, and that name stayed with the big river that runs through Paris today.
