Perspex is a brand name for the clear plastic acrylic used instead of glass because it is light and does not break easily. A helpful way to remember it is to think of per- as 'through' and the -plex part like in plexiglass, so Perspex suggests a 'see-through' plastic and is used for windows and display cases.
