Morphology

Macedonian + language

Etymology

Macedonian language takes its name from the region and people called 'Macedonia', long famous because of Alexander the Great. When Slavic people moved into that area, their speech became the local Slavic language, so today Macedonian language means the South Slavic language spoken in that region.
