Etymology
MMPI stands for Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, named after the University of Minnesota where it was developed. Multiphasic means 'many parts' and inventory means a 'list', so the MMPI is a long, standard questionnaire that checks many parts of a person's personality.
