Morphology
untraced = traced (transparent) = un + trace + ed
The adjective is formed by straightforward prefixation: 'un-' (not) + 'traced' (having been traced), yielding a directly negated meaning.
Etymology
Untraced is made of the parts un- meaning 'not' and trace meaning 'a sign or path that shows where something was'. Imagine trying to follow footprints but finding none, so something untraced has no sign and cannot be found.
