A standard adverbial formation from the adjective 'taxonomic' using the productive English adverbial suffix '-ly'.

Etymology

The word taxonomically comes from taxonomy, which comes from Greek words taxis 'arrangement' and nomos 'rule' and the same -nomy you see in astronomy. So, taxonomically means 'in terms of classification or arrangement', which is why we use it when talking about how organisms are grouped.
