Although the components literally mean 'three-dimensional' + 'printing', both 'stereo-' and 'lithography' are technical combining forms unfamiliar to typical B1 learners, so the meaning '3D printing method' is not readily derivable.
Etymology
Stereolithography comes from parts that mean stereo- 'solid', litho- 'stone', and -graphy 'writing' as in photograph. It is like 'writing' a solid shape into liquid resin with light, which is why the name fits the 3D printing method.
