Etymology
Spacewalk joins space ('the area outside a spacecraft') and walk ('to move on foot'), so it gives a clear picture of taking a 'walk' away from your ship. So, to spacewalk means to move outside a spacecraft, usually in a spacesuit, to do work or repairs.
