Built from 'reflect' -> 'reflective' + '-ity' to denote the property of being able to reflect; the formation and meaning are directly compositional.
Etymology
Reflectivity comes from the parts re- 'back' and flect 'bend', the same root you see in reflect. So when it refers to surfaces, reflectivity is how well something 'bends light back', like a mirror returning light.
