Popsicle comes from a brand story: the treat's maker, Frank Epperson, first called his frozen stick Epsicle, a name made from his name and icicle, and children later called it 'Pop's sicle', which became Popsicle. So, popsicle now means a small frozen 'ice' sweet on a stick, and the word is easy to remember because part of it comes from icicle, which means 'ice'.
