Etymology
The word overwrap comes from the parts over- meaning 'over' or 'extra' and wrap meaning 'to fold or cover something', just like in overcoat which is a coat you wear over other clothes. So an overwrap is an extra outer layer that covers a package to protect it or make it look better.
