Etymology
Kief comes from the Arabic word kayf, which means 'pleasure' or 'well-being'. In North Africa the word came to mean the strongest, powdery part of the cannabis plant that people collect and use for a stronger effect, so kief today is the concentrated powder used to increase a joint's strength.
