Etymology
Hypercube comes from hyper- meaning 'beyond' and cube meaning 'a box in three dimensions with six equal square sides'. A helpful image is a normal cube pushed 'beyond' our three dimensions into a fourth (and more), which is why a hypercube is the four-dimensional or higher version of a cube.
