Etymology
The word geriatrician comes from Greek parts geri- meaning 'old' and iatros, as in -iatric, meaning 'doctor'. Think of pediatrician, a child doctor: geriatrician is the same pattern, but for older people. So a geriatrician is a medical doctor who cares for older adults.
