Asexuality also comes from the part a- meaning 'not' and sexual from sex, which here means 'sexual attraction or activity'. A helpful way to remember is that a- is the same 'not' you see in 'atheist', and so as an orientation asexuality means 'little or no sexual attraction to other people'.
