Morphology
anagram = ana + gram
Formed from Greek combining forms 'ana-' + 'gram' which are not productive standalone English words, so an average B1 learner cannot derive the meaning from the parts.
Etymology
Anagram comes from the Greek parts ana- 'again' and gramma 'letter', the same gramma you see in telegram. So an anagram is 'letters again' — a new word or phrase made by writing the letters of another word or phrase in a different order.
