Etymology
Zircon comes from the name of a gemstone and that name comes from an old Persian word zargun meaning 'gold-coloured'. So, because the kernel borrows the gem name, you can remember Zircon as a small, hard 'gem' at the centre of Google's Fuchsia system, which helps explain why it is the system's core.
