Etymology
Vancouver in Canada is named after the British sea captain George Vancouver, who explored the Pacific coast. His family name comes from the Dutch parts van 'from' and Coevorden which is a town in the Netherlands, so the name once meant 'from Coevorden' and the city was given his name.
