The name is directly compositional: 'Saudi' (relating to the House of Saud or something/ someone from Saudi) + 'Arabia' (the Arabian region) yields the country associated with the Saud family/Arabian region. This follows common cross-linguistic country-naming patterns and a B1 learner who knows the constituents would readily infer it refers to the country.
Etymology
Saudi Arabia is named after the ruling family. Saudi means 'of the Saud' (the Al Saud family) and Arabia points to the Arabian land, so the name literally says 'the land of the Saud', which is why it means the country ruled by that family.
