Morphology
The meaning is directly compositional: 'Korean' (relating to Korea) + 'language' (a system of communication) yields 'the language of Korea'. This is a straightforward, cross-linguistically common noun + noun/adj construction that a B1 learner who knows the constituents will easily understand.
Etymology
Korean language gets its name from Korea, a country name that comes from an old kingdom called 'Goryeo'. People there later made a simple alphabet called 'Hangul' to show how the words sound, so Korean language now means the unique language spoken in both North and South Korea.
