Morphology
Juniperus + sabina
This is a Latin binomial: 'Juniperus' names the genus (a juniper), so the overall sense 'a species of juniper' is compositionally signalled by the constituents. However, the species epithet 'sabina' has no clear English lexical meaning here and recognizing Latin scientific naming conventions requires domain knowledge beyond a typical B1 learner, so the relation is only partly predictable.
Etymology
Juniperus sabina is the Latin name for the savin juniper. Juniperus means 'juniper' and sabina comes from an old word for 'savin', a low, spreading shrub, so the name simply tells you it is that kind of juniper.
