Etymology
Galatian comes from Galatia, the name for a region in the central part of what is now Turkey that was settled long ago by people called the Gauls, who came from western Europe. So a Galatian is simply someone from Galatia, especially someone whose family came from those Gauls, which explains the word's historical meaning.
