Etymology
EiB stands for exbibyte, where exbi- mixes 'exa' with bi- meaning 'two' (think of a bicycle) and byte means a 'unit of digital information', so the name points to a size for digital data. So, because of the bi- part it counts in groups based on two, making an EiB a very large data size equal to 1,024 pebibytes and used for huge digital storage.
