Ch'ing is an older spelling of modern Qing, the Chinese name the Manchu rulers gave their dynasty, and the word comes from a Chinese word meaning 'clear' or 'pure'. So, think of the Ch'ing dynasty as the 'clear' or 'pure' rule that was the last imperial family of China.
